Fashion Finder: Secrets of Fashion™ NYC Edition
Meet a true trendspotter, Abigail (Abbie) Andrews.

She’s 28 years old, 5’6”, with brown hair and occasionally wears glasses.
Abbie is an only child. Her father was born in Ghana and her mother grew up just outside Washington, DC. They were college sweethearts who eventually settled-down outside DC. Abbie envies their relationships and wonders if she’ll ever find a love like theirs.
Abbie’s parents always encouraged her to follow her dream of working in the fashion industry. They still help her out by sending her money whenever she needs it, even though they are pretty sure that it goes towards clothes.

Abbie moved to NYC six years ago after graduating college. The city can be lonely, but she has her best friend since the second grade, Sarah, an FIT grad and freelance stylist.
After a few grueling freelance gigs with Sarah, Abbie finally landed a job as a product closet coordinator. In the fashion magazine industry, it’s all about your title and Abbie has her sites set on Editor-in-Chief. It took three years to work her way up to assistant market editor and now she’s gunning for senior market editor, although she’d certainly settle for market editor.

Abbie lives in a West Village walk-up with her boyfriend Ethan, a graphic designer. They’ve been together for almost 3 years, but only recently moved in together.
Abbie never leaves home without her BlackBerry – she’s email obsessed.
Abbie always opts for the subway where she listens to NPR podcasts, however she’s often running late so a cab becomes her only option.
She’s a self-labeled no-fuss fashionista. Her all-time favorite designers are Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen and Randolph Duke, but her everyday basics are a collage of items from The Limited, Chinese Laundry, B.Krebsbach, Claire V. and Beija-Flor.
As a child, Abbie’s father introduced her to jazz. Since moving to NYC, Abbie likes going to jazz clubs late at night. She used to get annoyed when Ethan tagged along, but lately she finds these are some of their best times together.

Abbie and Sarah have brunch every Sunday, where they usually complain about work, make fun of people’s clothes and talk about boy problems – typical girl’s day out. Abbie tells Sarah absolutely everything – almost.
Abbie may not be the czar of the fashion industry yet, but she’s a girl on the move. So whether it’s doing chores for her boss Zoe, or solving the mystery of the missing gown, Abbie will do what it takes to get to her first runway show, and from there…watch out world!
